So I haven't updated this in about 2 months and a whole lot has happened in that time.
I am now single, celebrated my birthday and have made some wonderful new friends.
The break up was painful for me. The relationship even though short (4 months) made me realise how much I needed to learn about Nigerian men.
Yes I dated someone for nearly a decade but he was all I had ever known and subconsciously expected every man to behave like him.
How wrong I was, I am glad I got to learn though as I would rather have a broken relationship than a broken marriage.
Now, I am ready to start dating again BUT where are the men? Ladies who are in the diaspora may understand where I am coming from. I see men on a daily basis but only very very few are marriage material especially here in the UK.
How does one find a decent man with a decent job who isn't hooked or quarter to be hooked in obodo oyibo? lol. I see some 30-35 year old ladies here who are single and don't want to be them 3 or more years down the line.
I am planning to relocate to 9ja as I don't want to "settle" or marry oyibo. Which leads me to the next headache getting a job in Nigeria. If i'm going to quit my job here and move back, I'd rather get a job first as I believe me having a job makes me more attractive to prospective employers.
I have used sites like jobberman, naijahotjobs and nairaland but nothing has come up yet. If anyone got a job in 9ja from the diaspora please let a sister know how you went about it abeg.
I will try to update this more often and hopefully will have some good news to share soon.
xoxo
EG
